Has the new year started yet or is it just me feeling that January 2021 is an extension of 2020? In any case, let’s celebrate the progress of taking tiny steps towards better days. Happy New Year!

So… what has January been like? In news, the USA finally has a new president and it’s so refreshing (and peaceful) not to read about their president in every news outlet. Healing has begun :)

This month came by quite quickly, so here are few recommendations from January 2021! Enjoy…

Tune for the read: Aleceo — Senegal

1. Message from Home Alone

Keep your heart open, a beautiful message to open a new year with.

2. Poetry by Amanda Gorman

A refreshing young poet that stole and captures the hearts of millions around the world.

3. Designing Tokyo

Cool, hip. inspiring work by Sojiro Kamatani.

4. Film: Hundred-Foot Journey

A movie about food, family, love and following our hearts. Lighthearted and a feel-good movie.

5. Book: One Day In December

Romantic story about a decade of loving in secret.

6. Film: Sing Street (2016)

We were nicely surprised when we stumbled across this film. It is an Irish movie about a boy who likes a girl, and to impress her, he decides to start a band.

7. Series: Bridgerton (2020)

Not sure where to end or where to begin. It’s Bridgerton. Entertaining, passionate, sexy and a great distraction from the fact that we are living in yet another lockdown.

8. Fashion: The Face

This month I watched Season 1 of Naomi Campbell’s 2013 series called “The Face”. Each week models get a challenge and this commercial for Maserati was power work.

9. Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories

20 mins episodes about The Midnight Diner that opens from 12 in the morning till 7am. Many characters come inside and we follow their stories.

Other

  • Film: Tower Heist
  • Film: Rocketman
  • Film: All the boys I loved
  • Film: Always Be My Maybe
  • Documentary: Death to 2020
  • Cooking Course: Ultimate Vegan

May you be happy
May you be at peace
May you be loved

Happy New Year and thank you for visiting! Let’s meet again in February.
